Hi everyone, just a reminder to object to the planning application, there's not much time left so please do it today -if there are enough objections then it's 'called in' and has to go to committee.
I have now sent the petition to the NNC planning officer Chris Law who is overseeing this process requesting that its included in the formal feedback process as it was before.
Below is the link to the planning application - just copy and paste into your search bar and it should pop up!
Below is what I put in my objection if it helps....
I strongly object to this application on the basis that the chestnut tree will have to be removed to enable the wall to be repaired. The tree is strong, healthy and is a very much loved feature of the village. I question the validity of the wall being listed as it is so damaged and neglected there will be very little left of the original fabric once the bricks have been assessed for reuse. Historic England have advised that the decision can be made at a local level as they are simply not interested as the wall has no historical significance. In this respect the solution of building a retaining wall in front of the old wall will not only ensure it is safe but the tree will remain too, win win!! It is very obvious that people care far more about the tree than the wall and their views must be taken into consideration. There is a way to keep both the wall and the tree, the planning authority are the only ones potentially standing in the way - lets have a good news tree story for once!
