On February 2, 1016, a special election will be conducted for the Beaufort County School Board in District 2. This election will fill the vacancy created when School Board Chair Bill Evans resigned. As a signer of this petition, you have clearly stated your dissatisfaction with the conduct of the Superintendent Jeffrey Moss regarding the change in nepotism policy and the hiring of his wife. We are also deeply concerned with the lack of transparency and competency of the school board in addressing this issue. This special election represents the first opportunity for the residents and taxpayers of Beaufort County to restore sanity and competency to the school board. By following the statements of both candidates, including studying their positions and how they responded to direct questions, it is clear that there is only one choice in the support of our goals. David Striebinger is the only candidate who is committed to reform over the status quo. He is a man of integrity and brings a strong leadership background to a board that clearly lacks leadership and direction. His background in business will be essential in establishing disciplines that will assist the board in re-establishing its reputation and integrity. Mr. Striebinger has been clear that he wants a more transparent board that is held accountable for metrics and results, and in turn, can hold others accountable.
