Dear Warren Farm Nature Reserve supporter, 

After another successful breeding season this Summer for Ealing’s only Skylarks, Autumn is well and truly here! Jays with flashes of blue and pink are busy storing acorns, mushrooms appearing as if from nowhere and birders aplenty with eyes to the skies on the look-out for migrant birds stopping to feed up on their epic journeys across Europe and Africa. Our grassland and wildflower meadow has been cut and cleared with new species recorded, it’s been a wonderful year for #WarrenFarmNR wildlife WHICH ONLY MAKES OUR #WarrenFarmNR CAMPAIGN AND PETITION ALL THE MORE IMPORTANT! 

The State of Nature 2023 report recently came out and sadly, but not surprisingly, it makes for grim reading. The UK’s biodiversity is in crisis with Skylarks alone having declined by 56% between 1970 – 2018. A quarter of London’s Skylark population breeds here at #WarrenFarmNR and from government to councils we simply cannot carry on destroying vital habitats such as ours, at the cost of vulnerable wildlife and human health. It begins TODAY Monday 23rd October, 7.30pm and runs for 2 whole weeks of free live broadcasts celebrating UK wildlife, showcasing campaign issues and giving space to new young and diverse talent! We continue to seek Local Nature Reserve designation asking Ealing Council to not dewild us but to instead safeguard our #WarrenFarmNR wildlife in one of the most nature depleted countries in the world.
