Dear EA, we love to see how concerned you are about dealing with piracy. Piracy is something illegal and measures should be taken against it. The tools you use for countering piracy are pretty obnoxious. In order to punish pirates, game developers co-exist with a company named Denuvo. It's true that ever since Denuvo exists it takes a much longer period before games start to get cracked. The problem is that the majority of the people (the customers who buy the game) are also badly punished by seeing their games being infected with Denuvo (malware). It's not fair for those who pay the full price of a game to see their game being crippled by a third party company. You might argue about the fact that Denuvo has no impact on the performance or gameplay at all, but we gamers do prefer not to have this technology on our pc. Denuvo is a company that uses anti tamper to protect the DRM solution. The fact that their is an external company encrypting data on my HDD or SSD is unacceptable. It doesn't even matter if it would affect the longevity of my storage medium. This to me and according to many others is a serious violation/ an infringement on their privacy. EA has a pretty negative image and they can only blame themselves for that. Respect and trust is something that takes a long period of time to be earned, but can be extinguished in a second. The people who sign this petition agree that Denuvo is something extremely harmful for either their privacy, performance, gameplay experience or freedom and will refuse to buy games that are protected by Denuvo.
