Firestorm needs to be a free to play mode for Battlefield V. Right now, on PC, the estimated wait time to find a solo game is 5 minutes. Even if you get in a lobby, it will never or rarely become full. Trying to find a squad game is nearly impossible. The mode is made to be played with squads, so it is a shame that we cannot find any games. Firestorm needs to be a free to play extension to Battlefield V. The mode has been dead ever since launch. The move to make the mode behind a paywall was clearly the wrong one. Making it free will come with several benefits for the base game. 

Reasons Why

1. It will bring in more players. The new players in turn, will possibly want to purchase the base game. Battlefield V could possibly become lively again; even though the end of content support has happened. This can bring in more hype for Battlefield 2021.

2. Nearly every successful battle royale is free to play. Some that I can name are Call of Duty Modern Warfare: Warzone, Apex Legends, and Fortnite.

3. Battlefield can be back in the loop in terms of the press and media.

4. More players need to experience Firestorm. It is a very unique and fun experience.

5. The best case scenario is that support for Firestorm will continue via a different studio (but may be unlikely).

6. It will help the Battlefield YouTubers by providing a content flow.

7. Friends that have not played and are unwilling to purchase Battlefield V can try it for free themselves.
