At Tewksbury Memorial High School there are multiple teachers being laid off due to budget cuts. One such teacher is Daniel Kassner, a teacher in the history department. The reason for him being let go is due to the fact that he has the least amount of seniority in the history department. However, despite him being the teacher with the least seniority, he has had the greatest impact on students out of the entire department making students develop and grow at an astounding rate. Not only is he a great teacher that educates multiple AP, Duel Enrollment, and honors classes, but he is also the freshman basketball coach as well as a great man with a wife and newly born child to look after and provide for. By forming this petition I want to raise awareness and support for preventing the lay off of what I would consider one of the best educators in not just his department, but in the entire school.
