New pay increase benefits tax man - Not carers

It has been announced by HM Government that from April 7th 2025, the threshold for claiming Carers Allowance will change from £81.90 per week to £83.30 per week.

Whilst we all agree this is a step in the right direction, it is still not enough to prevent Carers from struggling financially, it is not enough to support the 5.9 million carers across the UK, who are still providing over £163bn to the economy.

More needs to be done, and the only way we can make the Government listen is by banding together, and uniting.

This increase in Carers Allowance does not mean more financial support from the Government, it means that those who are already working can earn more by working more hours, more money for the tax man and less money for you.

There needs to be a complete review into Carers Allowance, the prosecutions of those who have been overpaid needs to stop, and the Government needs to address this Urgently.
