Proposals have been made to fill Middridge quarry in with an estimated 135,000 THOUSAND tonnes of inert waste. 

As a local resident i am extremely concerned about the damage this will cause to the local environment and local peoples wellbeing.

If this proposal gets the go ahead it will involve up to 4 years (or more?) of large tipper trucks transporting waste up the quiet walkers lane and into the quarry.

This area is loved by walkers, runners, bird watchers but this will all disappear if there were to be large lorries coming in and out constantly. 

Middridge quarry is such a peaceful place- no traffic noise, lots of birds and a nest site for various birds. How many places offer tranquility locally?

To fill it in with rubbish would be a disaster.

Should this get the go ahead then i would be concerned about not just this area but many around it. Once they have ‘the foot in the door’ its unlikely this will be the end of waste tipping and they will push to do more.

As there have been so little options to object to these proposal i feel forced to create this petition in the hope it can be easy for people to object, as i know how loved the area is.
