Petition to
Durham County Council, Durham Police, Paul Howell MP

Why this petition matters

For far too long now the Trimdon villages (Grange, Colliery, Station and Village) have been the victim of an increase in serious crime and ASB. This is causing great distress to the local residents and the overall community. The lack of community  Policing, Neighbourhood Wardens, the long reaction times from Police to any reported incidences, and the general neglect of our villages by the local County Council has led to the Trimdons residents raising this important petition. We now ask the named organisations/people of this petition to seriously consider  the installation of CCTV cameras in strategic locations around the villages.

We feel that CCTV would be beneficial to act as a serious deterrent to criminals and anyone carrying out illegal activities. We feel it would also:

- Monitor activities
- Collect evidence
- Allow for decision Making on improving local security

- Keep records of any suspicious activities.

Most importantly, we feel CCTV cameras would allow the community to feel safer in their own homes.

The good residents of the Trimdons cannot tolerate anymore crime/ASB and we thus, ask  for immediate action of the petitioned.

Trimdons Community Action Group - on behalf of all Trimdon residents.
