I’ve recently been faced with a heart breaking situation. A stray dog ended up in my house after escaping from a nearby kennel that’s in a garden near my house. 
I was shocked by her appearance, she was starving, dry scabbed nose, red eyes, hair matted with old larvae in her ear hair as she was a cocker spaniel. 
No muscle mass in her legs from being locked up all her life, bones sticking out all over not house trained either but the worst thing was her nursing teats! They were dragging on the ground, overly used and scabbed.

She smelled appalling and I cried I broke down from the shock that this dog was being so unloved! 
I knew I had to help her so I bathed her, fed her which she was obviously starving , gave her vitamins and flea drops.

I need to think about the right course of action so at first I just wanted her to feel safe warm and fed. I cuddled her and the look she gave me will haunt me forever! A mix of sadness and confusion as if she had never been cuddled in her life. 
How can anyone do this to any creature let alone a beautiful caring sweet girl like this?! 
I decided that the RSPCA should be able to do something but they passed me into the council, they came and assured me that STRAY AID would at least let her see a vet, she didn’t I found out she was back with her owner by the afternoon. 
I called the police and reported animal cruelty and rang the RSPCA “again” 

The police informed me they attended the property and saw two separate dogs being kept apart in outdoor kennels and that the person who lived there only came back sporadically so god knows how often these dogs get any exercise or food / water let alone care affection and a life that they deserve. 

The RSPCA are yet to attend and I’ve had zero contact from them yet so ..

Ive now emailed my local MP and PETA, hit another brick wall!!!

WHY ARE ALL OF THESE CHARITIES AND ORGANISATIONS CAMPAIGNING FOR DONATIONS?! 
what are they even doing about real problems? 

a couple of years ago a law called “ Lucy’s law” was passed to help animals in this situation! That law is not being unforced or upheld!! 

please sign this petition and help me get some rights for these dogs! I actually don’t know where to turn and I can’t stand by and do nothing 

together we could end these cruel situations where dogs are sleeping alone, starving with no life.
