In a brand new interview, Hoffmann stated that Dunkin’ is in talks with a plant-based meat company and that we can expect to see a vegan item on the menu soon. He explained that Dunkin’ is staying up on current trends and that plant-based proteins are a “natural evolution” for the coffee giant, noting that guests will soon be able to choose to replace sausage made from animals with a plant-based patty or crumble.

In 2014, Dunkin’ poured out almond milk for our dairy-free coffee--but couldn’t seem to keep up as other fast food giants added more vegan items to their menus. But since Compassion Over Killing rolled out our vegan donut campaign last year, your voices are being heard, and big changes have been brewing for the coffee giant. Dunkin’ could be the first national coffee chain to dish out a vegan meat, gaining a major advantage over breakfast competitors like Starbucks and McDonald’s!
