On 10th January 2014 Ian Redford passed away aged 53. A player for both Dundee United and St Johnstone and a local boy, we as fans never got the chance to pay our respects to him as the game between both teams in January fell foul to the weather. As these two tayside teams meet at the pinnacle of the Scottish season this would be a fitting time to pay tribute to him. 

Having had some messages it seems the idea of having a piece in the matchday programme would be a fitting way to pay tribute to a local boy and footballing hero to many.
