Dun Laoghaire Living Streets - Can we hear YOUR voice?
The issue
Dun Laoghaire County Council are pushing ahead with the Living Street project in its entirety.
When you complete the online form from DLCoCo they are under no obligation to include your view in the report that will be sent to the councillors and only have to include “a summary of the issues raised by [respondents] and the chief executive's response”, this summary is created by the DLCoCo
I have created this petition to send directly to the councillors who will vote on this plan in February without any interference or bias from DLCoCo.
Living Streets
Many residents wish it would be amended, the contentious areas seem to be
1) Closing Tivolli Road to through traffic, thereby increasing traffic in all other roads including Glenageary Roundabout by up to 70%. Local care organisations have said they will only be able to offer a reduced in-home care service to OAPs due to extended travel times
2) Reducing parking in Clarinda Park by about 25%, local retailers have said this will hurt their businesses
3) Pedestrianising the Main Street 24/7, an alternative proposal has been suggested to allow busses and taxis in (along with delivery drivers) weekday mornings so that OAPs can do their shopping and still catch a bus.
This is your chance to have a say directly to the 40 councillors who will vote on the proposal, once February has passed you will not be able to object.
The link to the full plan is at https://dlrcoco.citizenspace.com/infrastructure-climate-change/living-streets-dun-laoghaire
Please sign this petition and click on the confirmation email sent to you if you would like to tell the Dun Laoghaire County Council that you want their plan amended.
Please don't just sign this petition, please share it on Facebook, residents' associations and with your friends, we will only get them to amend the plan if enough people sign the petition
