Hi
Many of you may have been at last night's meeting, unfortunately, I think there are still very polarized views. Most concerning to me or two comments
1) The people in support of moving forward with Living Streets proposal are in the majority on the DLCoCo survey
2) A councillor last night said that unless you are definitively against the proposal they may take your "Yes, with certain changes" response as a yes vote and not the no to large bits of it - I am guilty of this where I said I am not for the proposal but I do like bits of it. I have asked a councillor to verify this information so at this stage it is not 100 per cent verified but a councillor last night did say this is the case. I am going back onto the petition and resigning without any ambiguity and saying no I am not for it.
I have sent our petition with all 775 names onto all 40 councillors but I think everybody needs to go on to the official portal and say they are not for this plan. There is talk of people from as far away as Donegal and Tralee cycling clubs submitting positive reviews of the plan as they've been asked to by their cycling club so as locals I would ask you to have your say as well.
At this stage, it is probably best to simply say I object to the Living Street proposal" and mark yourself as a negative. This will hopefully pause the plan and allow parts of it to be revisited. To do this simply go to the county council link which is at https://dlrcoco.citizenspace.com/infrastructure-climate-change/living-streets-dun-laoghaire/consultation/ and vote no. I have just done it and it allows you to.
Please do this in the next day or 2 as they are shortly closing submissions
Many thanks for your time and I hope you have a nice day
Dave
