STOP FLY TIPPING IN CRADLEY & WOLLESCOTE

This petition had 765 supporters

The Issue

Fly tipping in the Cradley and Wollescote area, specifically Foxcote Lane and Wassell Grove, has increased dramatically over the last two years, to the point it is now a daily occurrence. Although Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council usually arrange for removal quite quickly, this is not enough. The constituents who live in the area and anyone passing through or visiting should be able to travel without obstruction and enjoy our green spaces. The signatories of this petition demand that further measures are implemented to:

  1.  Discourage fly tipping by installing CCTV or other proven measures
  2. Install adequate warning signage in prominent positions regarding the prosecution of offenders
  3. Prosecute all those caught fly tipping
  4.  Run a media campaign in local press to educate people on the problem and highlight local amenities where waste can be disposed of safely and legally

The situation is now urgent. Not only is this an environmental concern and a blot on our beautiful landscape, the safety of motorists and their passengers should be at the forefront of your strategy to promptly and adequately deal with this situation. It is only a matter of time before someone is injured as a result of this constant fly tipping! As local tax payers we will no longer accept your approach of putting a sticking plaster over this gaping wound on our countryside, we demand that you all work together and perform surgery!
