Instate a Credit-no-Credit Grading System in DUSD Rather than a Letter Grading System

Instate a Credit-no-Credit Grading System in DUSD Rather than a Letter Grading System

The Issue

It has recently been voted that DUSD will not be using a credit-no-credit system and is looking to adopt a letter grading system during distance learning.

However, this grading system would mean that there is more work for teachers and still leaves many questions surrounding how grades will be determined. The idea of using AP Tests to help determine the letter grade for students was also floated around but this still gives no clear answer on how the final grades of students will be determined. Not to mention the fear of widespread cheating will also make AP Tests a poor indicator of students' academic performance.
Lastly a pass no pass system would put less strain on teachers who are already going through such a hard time and would simplify the grading system as whole.

Many other school districts in the Bay Area have adopted a credit no credit system. Instead of complicating the grading process for all of us, I propose that DUSD also should use a credit no credit system.
