Over the course of the next year, Dublin City Council wish to lower the speed limits of many Dublin roads to 30KPH. This is just 18.6MPH. Soon it will be faster for a cyclist to get from point A to point B in a straight line. Most cars will not get out of 2nd gear with this speed limit, increasing revs, causing yet more air pollution for everyone (Remember this is a Green Party policy) and worsening the traffic flow into and out of the city.

This will NOT force people onto the poor public transport system. People are driving because the transport links are not good enough. Rather, it will make criminals of a lot of very well behaved drivers.

Dublin City Council need to stop these draconian speed restrictions from extending past the city center where they do serve a purpose.
