I, Sweta, aka Aastha, age 35, was born with an incurable disease called Osteogenesis Imperfecta. It's a group of genetic disorders that leads me to a bedridden life due to severe progressive degeneration of bones and connective tissues as a result bones break easily.
Besides all, I am a self-confident, optimistic girl, not believe in limits. Now I'm a 3D interior and exterior visualizer. In 2015 fighting for the rights of the most vulnerable neglected lives, I Recently established my nonprofit organization called ALKC FOUNDATION.

Problem:
There are over 2.68 crores (26.8 million) people in India who are disabled and fighting for mobility. How ironic it is to be a world's leading democratic nation where millions of children and people with physical disabilities can’t go out because there is no way for them unless they spend thousands on private transportation.

One of the most common causes of educational barriers for children/students with disabilities is the lack of inclusive transportation services. The burden ultimately falls upon the parents to drop off and pick up their child from school. As a result, families refuse to educate their children with physical/mental/locomotor disabilities because they cannot bear private transportation costs.

Lack of inclusive transportation for persons with disabilities leads to deprivation of opportunities, such as education, skill training, income-generating options, health care, etc. As a result, millions of persons with disabilities are unable to get out of their own homes to live independently and with dignity.

Demand:
We demand the Government to take necessary steps so that persons with disabilities can live with the right to equality, dignity, and respect for their integrity equally with others.

Initially, we requests inclusive public transportation for children and people with disabilities, including_

⦁ Inclusive buses, trains, and other modes of public transport for people with physical / mental / locomotor disability
⦁ One male and female attendant to help disabled people during the journey and for onboarding purposes.
⦁ Special accessible stops for physically challenged people to take inclusive public transportation.
⦁ Visible GPS panic buttons that a person can press in case of need.

Special inclusive transportation for the children/students with disabilities:

⦁ Implementing reframed transport services in schools, colleges, and universities for children/students with a physical disability, especially for the children/students of low-income families, may get nominal/free school transport charges.
⦁ One male and female attendant to help disabled people during the journey and for onboarding purposes.

My fight is to make India an educational barrier-free nation with accessibility, Inclusion, and self-reliance for Persons with Disabilities, which is every Indian's constitutional right.
