In view of aforesaid reasons which are blameworthy for road accidents and also are a big obstacle to road safety I suggest the following measures to ensure road safety 24×7  Alarming all over India.

Remedial measures for Road safety 

1. Awareness-this is a key point where we should take support by the citizens by creating awareness about road safety.So that in the theme of public participation process, every one starts obeying the traffic rules and regulations . In this we can take help from the NGOs , Military and Police

 This should become an habit among the children and young generation.To achieve this the government should start a Compulsory syllabus on Road safety  in all middle and high schools. So that we can prepare a disciplined and obedient next generation in India.

Strict provisions for issue of driving licence .

• Unfortunately in our country this compulsory and main topic pertaining to road safety .
• Therefore I suggest that before granting a driving license a proper training about driving , Traffic rules , Traffic signs etc should be compulsory and after passing the written and Practical exam a driving License should be Issued.

In NATIONAL HIGHWAYS and Express way driving 

• Speed limits of vehicles should be Set. 
• Trespassing of Local passengers and Domestic animals should be stopped.

Strict action for violation of traffic rules

• There shouldn't be any compromise or leniency for breaking the traffic rules .
• For this i suggest that a compulsory  record to be maintained of penalty taken by each vehicle .
• Whoever violates the rules more that 3 times  his/her licence should be  cancelled on permanent basis or a new licence should be made by retaking their driving test and practical as mentioned above .
• Public transport [passengers,goods] should be kept in a different category of driving licence.
• Drivers operating the Passenger buses , school buses, trucks, heavy vehicles etc . Their  character check and a minimum qualification should be kept to avoid large number of accidents .

A traffic committee should be constituted in every District 

• The Above committee should consist of RTO/ Nagar Nigam/ Cantt/Electricity boards and Medical teams to take immediate actions  on encroachment on roads/Left turns .
• Proper functioning of ITMS and  maintaining a record of violence of traffic rules and treatment of injured passengers.

No Political Approach and involvement to be entertained in release of a  defaulter from the bars.

 

It's our prime appeal to all the citizens  to sign and forward this  appeal to concerned authorities  in the larger interest  to protect the human and Animal life .
