If you have not heard already, the animation company Illustration Entertainment is looking to reboot the Shrek films. I feel that this is the wrong choice to make and leave a negative impact on the franchise as a whole. As someone who has watched films by Illumination, I feel their style would not fit with what Shrek is a series. From what I have seen Illumination follows some of the same rules for many of their films, trendy pop music, over the top slapstick, etc. I believe this would not translate well onto Shrek. Instead I believe that DreamWorks should take the series back into the spotlight by creating their own film, wether it be a sequel or reboot (preferably the first). I hope you feel the same way.
