Draft Joanna McClinton to run for Philadelphia District Attorney.

On May 16, 2017, Democrats in Philadelphia will go to the polls to choose a Democratic Nominee for District Attorney. The incumbent is faced with serious ethical questions after being fined a historic $62,000 penalty for not reporting $175,000 in gifts including tickets to sporting events; $40,000 in home repairs, including a new roof; and expensive vacations to Caribbean resorts. He only reported those gifts after an FBI probe into his conduct.

After years of watching Philadelphia officeholders prosecuted for various lapses in judgment, Philadelphia needs a competent, progressive District Attorney with integrity.

Joanna McClinton is qualified for the job because she's dedicated her life to public service. As an attorney at the Defender Association, she represented individuals charged with a variety of crimes. As someone with a background in defense, she will know how to help rehabilitate the accused through drug treatment and work release instead of blindly warehousing them. And with resources set aside for rehabilitation for non-violent offenses, her DA's office can put extra energy and resources to fight gun violence.

Joanna McClinton's impressive stances in Harrisburg focusing on keeping mandatory minimum sentences out of the system for first-time drug offenders and taking juveniles out of adult prisons while waiting for trial show a true advocate for the people.

With Trump in the White House, we need McClinton's community advocacy in the courthouse!
