Recently, the Brazilian Naturist Federation (FBrN) attempted to restrict the use of the very word naturismo in Brazil, claiming ownership through a trademark. This is not only an attack on freedom of expression but also an attempt to monopolise a cultural way of life that belongs to everyone. Such behaviour tarnishes naturism globally and underscores why the NICP Act is essential—to protect naturism from exploitation and preserve its integrity.
