Mudgeeraba village is situated on and around a natural floodplain.  When we have big rains each year the mudgeeraba creek floods in a way which supports our wetlands and area.   The village is one of the few heritage area on the gold coast and the community work hard to maintain the buildings and address human impact on the area. 

However an idea has been put forward to develop the floodplain along mudgeeraba creek into a showground providing a home to greyhound and harnes racing, along with concerts. 

This kind of development is better suited to high density areas with good travel and parking infrastructure and would suggest the areas around our current stadiums which are far more suitable and under used.
