The class of 2020 has been waiting their whole lives to walk the stage in front of their friends and family, celebrating their educational success, but with the COVID-19 pandemic, it is very likely they wont be able to do what they worked so hard for. I am a senior at Madison HS and I along with parents and students have been informed that it is very likely we will have a Virtual Graduation instead of a traditional graduation. We have also been informed that our graduation cant be rescheduled due to our original location being booked all summer. I speak for my fellow seniors among NEISD in that we would rather have no graduation at all if our only option is a virtual one. We understand the situation we are in due to the pandemic, but we would rather wait a couple of months to graduate then graduate in front of a screen. I have emailed several other options for locations to have the graduation ceremonies held including something as simple as the football fields at the schools. It would mean the world if you could share and sign this petition to get the attention of the districts, the class of 2020 wont go out without a bang.
