Online Exam should be Conduct/Cancelled for SMU DE as already declared for Reg. SMU stud.
The Issue
After March 2019. There is no examination conducted uptill January 2020 due to a guideline issued by UGC that Sikkim Manipal University Directorate of Distance Education ( SMU-DE ) will have to conduct exams in Sikkim only. University had not informed students about it at all. Only in December 2019 University announced the above mentioned guidelines. SMU-DE for its student take the whole matter in The Sikkim High Court. In the another half of January 2020 it was announced by SMU -DE that the court's decision is to conduct exams in Sikkim as per UGC. SMU-DE asked its students to choose from Feb to May 2020 any month in order of preference for exams. Suddenly in March Covid -2019 pandemic happened. And Lock down started so exams was not conducted as per SMU-DE Notifications of 13th and 31st March. Now SMU announced online exams for its regular students. As per their notifications on SMU website. Their Examinations Schedule had also been already declared. Our only demand from SMU-DE is that SMU-DE should also conduct online exams ( can be given with laptop or PC at home ) for its distance( online ) students from 16th August( We have more than 1 month to prepare ) to the end of September, 2020 as we don't know that when Colleges will be open. Our demand is that all organizations and individuals associated with this should look into the whole matter. We want our 2019 exams ( We are already late by more than a year ) at all cost. If University is currently not able to conduct online examinations then It should return fees ( as demanded by some students) or Promote us to the the next Semester/ Year based on Internal Assignments and previous semester performances ( In some cases both are not applicable). Please cancel examinations and promote us to next year/Semester if exams are not possible due to Covid-19 Pandemic situation which is getting worsed day by day. Show support Friends. Thanks!
