The students, parents, alumni and community partners of Martin Luther King, Jr. Senior High School should support this petition because the current Principal is not providing an educational environment that supports ALL students. Too many students are suspended for little no reason. Students have been suspended for tardiness. Students have been suspended for uniform. The Principal has also suspended students for expressing their ideas. When addressing uniforms, he didn't care to listen to our parents, nor our concerns. He has said time and time again that he loves the students but in reality, he loves his job and motives more than anything. The only interactions he has had with students as principal is suspensions. Even as the "senior administrator," he failed to listen to their ideas about senior events. He's careless. 

He continues to lie about positive Covid cases daily but scream about the seriousness of data as it pertains to academics and attendance, publicly telling students they are not on track to graduate (very hypocritical), when in reality, the data he has isn't accurate. He has told many seniors that we weren't on track and sent us to the counselor. He came here saying that if graduation was today that only 20% of us would graduate. When contacting the district, we were told that that was highly not true. And honestly, we were told that Mumford was much lower. He has CLAIMED to be a CRUSADER but doesn't have respect or true love for his up and coming Crusaders.

He informed our parents about various meetings, events, and other things, but since the beginning of school, he has only reported 3 Covid cases, when it has been many....And there are receipts....No one knows the actual protocols. It has not been communicated from the Principal. Students left and right are testing positive and or are exposed....While other schools has shut down for a deep cleaning, we have continued operations daily. He sits in the hallway as if there is nothing going on. But is a "man of God." 

If a student is late to school, they are turned around at the front door without a parent, when some students are on their own, catching buses from various parts of the city, or many other reasons. He doesn't seem to care about those issues that hinder students. His uniform policy -- black bottoms and white tops is normal. However, as student is denied access to class because of that, not knowing or caring about what the situation may be. Student athletes are denied the ability to wear jogging pants (black) as asked.

With the stress of the pandemic, the staff and students morale is VERY LOW. It's sad that we as a community have no say so or don't want to be involved because of his egocentric mindset. He fails to listen. He lies. He name drops. And every school he's been to, Mumford and Southeastern says the same thing.....The  students and some staff are glad he's gone and we would be too! 

Even now, 7 teachers and several students, are all out because they tested positive for Covid. He has not notified parents. We have not had a deep cleaning or anything. His politics is really sad and it shows that he's putting power over people. 

Martin Luther King, Jr. Senior High School, an elite school, in what is claimed to be an elite school district deserves MORE and BETTER. We deserve an elite, respectful, caring, compassionate, honest, and loving leader.
