First, I would like to start off by saying my condolences for Nicholas Eisele and his family, he will forever be in our hearts...

Recently a petition has been made asking to have Mrs Roderick, formerly Mrs Manfredonia to be removed from her 16+ year position at NHS due to the fact that her son's victim- Nicholas Eisele's siblings will be entering the same school in which she currently teaches. After the Sandy Hook shooting our town began promoting "Be Kind", "We Choose Love" and "Nicer in Newtown". If these phrases stand true of our town, then how can we define a grieving mother by her adult son's actions? As hard as it is for the Eisele siblings to see the mother of their brothers killer; it is just as difficult for Mrs Roderick (Manfredonia) to see two sisters who lost their brother at the hands of her own son. Both families have suffered profound loss and lives have been ruined on both ends. It is upsetting for somebody to request Mrs. Roderick to leave her place of employment where she has been working most of her life.

One student wrote, "Most teachers throughout my 4 years got sick of my "excuses" for missing class/assignments or just got fed up with me. But when I had Mrs. Manfredonia for Biology, she was always so kind to me. She was one of the only teachers that remained patient with me and worked with me through difficult times." Another tells, “Literally all other teachers I had in high school made me feel stupid because I learn slower/differently than others. Mrs Manfredonia was so kind and patient with me. She is one of the only teachers that left a positive impact on my life”. Not to mention the countless messages stating that she was the "best" teacher they ever had...

Please sign this petition if you believe Mrs Roderick should remain teaching at NHS where she will continue positively impacting student lives.
