We, on behalf of Dental Fraternity of country, are submitting this petition to bring to your kind notice a deliberate attempt to malign our profession and misguide the general public. We are really shocked with the recent news and claims made by Baba Ramdev who is misguiding the masses by proclaiming that modern medicine has no cure for Pyorrhoea and rather taking it further by promoting his non scientific way of management of the these diseases, so much so claiming that by certain yog asanas, the cavity in the teeth can be filled. This will cause a great harm to the patients, not only in the terms of delaying the appropriate treatment but also mismanagement of the cases. We are not against the alternative ways of managing oral disease, rather we believe that if worked in conjunction, allopathy and ayurveda can help us maintain a healthy state of mouth and general well being. But his claims of ridiculing allopathy and trying to convey that only ayurveda has curative treatment is uncalled for.We hereby are making this petition to the concerned authorities to restrain Baba Ramdev from doing such malafide acts and retract his false and rubbish claims, so that the general public does not get swayed by his non scientific, no evidence based claims.
