At this week's board meeting, the board addressed rephrasing FMLA rules that would allow employees to get 10 extra days paid, if they take six weeks off (consecutively or intermittently.) Previous rules allowed you to get 10 extra days paid if you were off six weeks consecutively.

This helps us because like most NICU parents, Lauren went back to work shortly after giving birth to conserve her time off. Meaning, her six weeks would not be consecutive. However, this doesn't help us because she only has 13 days of paid time off left. Meaning in order to qualify for the 10 paid days, she will be without a month pay.

This is like having a brace when we have a broken arm. Like, it's better than not having the brace, but what we really need is a cast.

Please keep sharing and signing our petition. It's causing some change. We can not afford to stop now! Spread the word like wildfire. If you shared, share again! Because of the social media algorithm, a different crowd of people see it every time you post. So re-sharing is very helpful. Our fight isn't over!

In Gigi news, baby girl is officially off the CPAP machine. Gianna is now weighing six pounds. We are so proud of our little fighter!
