I sincerely thank every person who has made the effort to sign the petition. When it reaches 15,000, it will be presented to Dr Brendan Nelson of the Australian War Memorial. It currently has almost 13,000 signatures. But I am reliably informed that parliaments, and bureaucracies like the Australian War Memorial are not obliged to take any notice of on-line petitions. Therefore, I am asking all of you who made the effort to sign this petition if you might actually take a more decisive action- in one (or both) of these ways: - if you are a veteran (or the relative of a veteran) you might request (under Freedom of Information) of the Australian War Memorial a copy of all documents in which that veteran is named. This would be a test to see if his/her service history has also been compromised by the AWM or other agencies - and/or secondly, you might like to send a personal email to the AWM (which includes your name and address) in which you let your feelings and concerns about this matter be known (they have a statute obligation to respond to any letters which are properly addressed). The email contacts for the AWM is: info@awm.gov.au Finally, so that you understand that this is a matter that has been the subject of significant media attention over many years, you might be interested to read two major articles about it. I have placed both on-line. One accompanies this update. The other is at: https://www.facebook.com/warwithintate/photos/a.276026855835193.55770.276021632502382/776478252456715/?type=3&theater Best Regards to all Don Tate
