The Users of Mission Raceway Park petition the BC Health Authorities to reevaluate the conditions of use at Mission Raceway Park and allow full facility racing to continue. When compared to the allowed general public use of any campground in BC there are very close similarities. MRP is a campground with racing competition attached. In fact we submit that MRP users are in a much more controlled outside environment than a recreational camp ground for the following reasons: the pit areas are generally larger than a campsite; racers are contained within their RV, trailer or vehicle from staging to race completion; there is no need for close interactions between people; spectators and visitors if/when allowed have ample room to social distance on a large property; unlike a campground security is always present to enforce rules; racers are a conscientious group used to following rules and guidelines.

MRP plays a critical role in providing a safe and controlled environment for performance enthusiasts to use their machines away from the street. For a portion of our society motorsports are part of their recreation, mental health and well-being. Anyone looking closely at services MRP provides should see the many social and local economic benefits of allowing the facility to continue full operations while safely being within the guidelines of Pandemic measures.
