Just one day after the Warsaw Zoo re-opens due to Coronavirus lockdown, a drunk man goes into the Brown Bear enclosure and attempts to drown an elderly bear named Sabina, who was rescued from a circus just a few years earlier. The video footage shows the man inside the enclosure which agitates Sabina. She then charges him and he jumps in the water. She too jumps in the water at which point he wrestles Sabina and purposefully holds the elderly bear underwater numerous times. As a result, Sabina shows signs of extreme stress.

Sadly, this is not the first time Sabina has been attacked. In 2015, another man went inside her enclosure and punched her in the head.

It is very clear the safety and well being of Sabina is at risk. She's already survived 20+ years as a performing circus animal. Now she lives in a zoo enclosure that is accessible to a neighboring street in which she is constantly taunted and has been physically attacked. 

I am petitioning Dr. Andrzej G. Kruszewicz, Director of Warsaw Zoo, Katarzyna Myszkorowska, Deputy Director of Warsaw Zoo and Maria Krakowiak, Head of Predatory Animals at Warsaw Zoo, to do what's in the best interest of Sabina and retire her to a life at Sanctuary immediately!
