For years our regular DPD drivers Pete and his son Dan have provided amazing service to the residents of our parts of rural Herefordshire and Worcestershire. They know their patch, and their customers. There are numerous examples of them going above and beyond to ensure that parcels get delivered even in the most difficult of circumstances. Those of us who have been served by them for years regard them as friends, not just service providers. 

DPD has in its wisdom decided to terminate the contracts of Pete and Dan, and to hand the contract for delivering parcels to a man entity which will cover a number of delivery runs which were previously staffed by long-term drivers such as Pete and Dan. Early evidence is that the new contractors are nothing like as knowledgeable, thorough or as customer-focused as our old drivers. In the past DPD has been an outlier in parcel delivery in this area - other companies have used different minimum-wage drivers in white vans, many of whom don’t know the area. In contrast, Pete and Dan have provided cheerful, friendly service and have looked out for those in trouble or needing extra help.

Our petition  is simple - we just want DPD to reverse its decision to get rid of our trusty drivers Pete and Dan. We want them back. They are at the core of our community, and community is vitally important in these difficult times. We are also customers, and we want to continue to support DPD in providing superb customer service. 

So please DPD - bring back Pete and Dan!
