Roscoe, or Rocky as he was known to his shipmates was from Clarendon, Texas. Y2/c (Yeoman Second Class) Gholston was killed in action aboard the USS Arizona while he was at his duty station. Rocky is likely one of the 85 unknown sailors that are currently residing in the Punchbowl Cemetery in Honolulu, Hawaii.
