On this Fourth of July, we remember all those who fought and died for the freedoms we enjoy as Americans. But today, we focus on one Manuel Dominic Badilla, of the USS Arizona. He was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. Manuel had big dreams of owning his own fishing boat with his best friend and fellow sailor Robert Roland Clayton. Unfortunately their dreams were never realized and both perished aboard the USS Arizona. Manuel's body was likely one recovered and buried in an unknown grave. On this most hallowed of days for Americans we are asking you to share Manuel's story in the hopes that the DPAA will reverse their decision and identify hopefully, Manuel and his lifelong best friend Robert.
