This is George Hollowell, native of Maricopa County, Arizona. He was 21 years old when his ship the USS Arizona was attacked and bombed by the Japanese. George was killed onboard the Arizona while he was at his battle station. The massive blast threw George against the bulkhead, knocking his head back causing a tramatic brain injury, killing him almost instantly. George's body was never truly identified due to the fire and he is almost certainly one of the unknown's buried in Punchbowl Cemetery. With your help, we can force the DPAA to identify sailors like George and ensure they are buried with their names, ranks, and full honors they deserve.
