85% of PA school are playing Fall Sports. The PIAA has approved moving forward, and Governor Wolf has put out new guidelines including spectators. With PIAA current rules, our kids will never get this season back if they don’t play right now. They will also forfeit the right to participate in playoffs. For many High School students this can negatively impact their collegiate athletic options.  Your high school principal is the one who votes. This petition is to ask for an immediate reversal of the decision to postpone Fall Sports utilizing CCHD recommendation, and utilize other experts, including CHOP for the reversal. Our public schools are here to serve the public, and they are required to utilize the voice of their constituents in making decisions. The recovery rate in Chester County as a whole is 82.82% and less than 6% of reported cases are children under the age of 18. Our infection rate as a percent of the population for townships part of the downingtown school district as reported by and sourced from the Chester County Health Department is 0.8% of the population, that is 8 in 1000 people! Our death rate is 0.003%, which is 3 in 10,000, no deaths reported under the age of 19 on the website.  Please make your voice heard and demand Chesmont reverse it’s decision immediately to honor the voice of the constituents.
