During the Pandemic, the team at St Peters Care & Share have run a free collection point for toys and household items outside the church.  

The items are well presented, only on offer on dry days and are removed overnight.  Not only does this support recycling, but offers members of our community young and old items to entertain and assist during lockdown and difficult fiscal times. Strict social distancing is observed and hand sanitiser is available.  

Apparently a complaint (or complaints?) have been received that this spoils the look of the church and appears scruffy.  The church is a community hub and does not hold religious services at this time.  

The tireless and valuable work of the St Peters Care & Share team is greatly appreciated by the majority of our community.  Sadly, those who complain seem to receive more time and attention than those of us who support all the good work achieved.  

The purpose of this petition is to demonstrate the support and thanks of the majority, and request that the collection service remains available.  It is also a request the right to consultation to address these complaints and look to continue and improve this valuable addition to our community rather than continually being restricted, shut down and critiqued.
