South Ayrshire Council: Sort our parking and waiver fines for UWS Students

Student's at the University of the West of Scotland today have been slapped with fines of £60 (£30 if paid within 14 days) for the inadequate parking facilities provided by UWS Ayr. With the addition to the new Ayr Academy campus and potentially too many students being enrolled at the university, parking has now become even more of an issue than it previously was.
Given the number of students who use SAAS as means of funding their lives whilst at university, it is severely unfair to be handed a fine of £60 for parking on streets (yes, they are double yellow lined) but we have no other options.
Public transport to Ayr is mainly by trains for students, which is extortionate. We cannot park in the residential area, due to complaints by the residents. We cannot park in the car parks - due to there being no spaces.
South Ayrshire Council: Please work with the University of the West of Scotland to make parking more available and for the time being, waiver any currently issued fines to students and freeze further fines until a decision has been made regarding the parking situation.
