DOUGLAS COUNTY, it's time to stand up for our children! Our kids deserve to go to school UNMASKED! Our county currently has a low rate of Covid-19/Delta but under the governors newest directive, our kids, K-12 will likely go back to school in masks. 

We need to take a stand. And I need a headcount before I can present this to the board.  The plan is unknown at this time. Our district is meeting on Monday 8/2 at 4pm. If they don't comply, they lose government funding and from what I'm being told, if we don't show up to school, they lose funding.  

My plan is to keep my kids home, on extended summer, until they can go to school unmasked. If we get enough support, they will have no choice but to listen to us. I'm done homeschooling, I'm done with hybrid learning, I'm done with masks and I'm done being controlled. Who's with me? By signing this petition, you're making it possible to show the district how many families will be absent until further notice. Our phone calls to the attendance office will flood the schools each morning explaining that our child will be absent if there is a mask mandate. How long will the be able to stay open if 75% of our kids aren't there?? Our voices need to be heard. We need to fight for this because this will never end if we don't!!
