Dear Fine Folks, Thank you for your support of the CV Japanese program! I spoke with four teachers from CV today (including Aki sensei) and believe that we need to tweak our approach a bit and focus our calls more on the District Administration and Board of Education rather the the CV administration. This is why. I am sure that Mr. Corr, Mr. Hollingshead and all of administrators do not want to see the Japanese program end as they know how much it has enriched our school and the community. However, I was told that the school will receive $440,000 less in the 2016-2017 school year than we received this year. Hard decisions need to be made. We must help! The community need remind Superintendent Fagen and the Board of Education that they work for the students, parents and the community. All budgets are limited and we must prioritize. Do we buy expensive assault rifles for the district security to have in their vehicles or do we provide students with diverse and interesting learning opportunities(like Japanese)? Do we increase the number of highly paid district administrators or do we invest in teachers and staff that actually work with our students everyday? Under the last six years of Fagen and BOE mismanagement, students have lost again and again. I choose to stand up for our young people! Please join us at #savejapaneseatCV!
