This is an official Petition supported by Chatham parents and students to request the reconsideration and immediate reinstatement of the Senior Banner Program. Senior banners have a long standing tradition within the community. Many students and parents, coming into their senior year of high school, have looked forward to purchasing these banners and displaying them proudly. Additionally, a majority of the surrounding area schools have an identical tradition.

This year, the program has been banned on school grounds via the Glenwood High School Athletic Director and students are no longer able to proudly display their senior banners on school grounds. In the past, fences surrounding the school and gymnasium have been utilized to display these banners. These banners are not purchased by the school. There is no cost to the district to develop or print these banners.

This petition is to request the immediate reinstatement that banners may be proudly displayed as they have in the past.  There is an understanding there is a need to organize this program. However, we kindly request for the 2018/2019 school year - banners (already purchased) be allowed to be displayed, as they have in the past, and for future years a direction/policy be developed to include, by not limited to: Directions, contacts for development, purchase, dimensions, and locations for display be made available.
