Last week on LinkedIn Tarion boasted about being recognized as a "great place to work". We have seen other similar boastings by Tarion before.
A recent posting by Indeed.com for a customer service position at Tarion said that Tarion pays 39% above the national average.
All of this is hard for many consumers to stomach - especially given that most of Tarion's revenue comes from purchasers of newly built homes.
Meanwhile, CPBH continues to hear regularly from purchasers of newly built homes who are fed up with Tarion's so-called customer service. One newly built home purchaser recently wrote to Tarion about Tarion's service and said: "...It's like living in a hostage situation, only hostages have a better chance of resolution in a timely manner..".
To add insult to injury, the Ontario Government demands that Administrative Authorities (AAs) like Tarion to pay the Ontario Government annually to "oversee" these AAs. Each year, the Ontario Government collects millions of dollars in "oversight fees", with little to no transparency regarding how these funds are used.
To many, this all feels like some sort of racket.
