Prior to the 2018 election, the PCs (then in Opposition) supported Justice Cunningham's Tarion Review report, that includes ending Tarion's monopoly.  Prior to the 2018 election, Doug Ford said he doesn't believe in monopolies.

But since coming into power, the PCs and Premier Ford have reversed their position, and they won't tell us why.

Consumers - and CPBH - have lined up at microphones twice in the last six months and told two government committees that Bill 159 is not nearly enough to adequately protect Ontario's purchasers of newly built homes.

Minister Thompson has refused to meet with CPBH for a substantive discussion on Bill 159.

But the building industry appears to support Bill 159.

Recently the NDP and the Green Party proposed dozens of amendments to Bill 159 to try to strengthened it from a consumer protection perspective, but the Ford Government, which has a majority, rejected all of them.

Shrouded in secrecy, it appears that Bill 159 is about to become law in Ontario unless there is a significant change of heart by Premier Ford.

We need your help - please.  Please pick up the phone on Monday and tell Premier Ford that Bill 159 is not good enough.

Here's his number - 416-325-1941.
