It's a very sad day in Ontario when new home purchasers must take it upon themselves to ensure that newly built homes are built properly. But that's what it has come to as discussed by CPBH President Dr. Karen Somerville on CBC television last night (link below).

One key piece of the Ontario consumer protection system that is fundamentally broken is Tarion - Ontario's mandatory monopoly.
