Many of those infected have been asymptomatic for days after they first became infected and carriers of the virus.  Further, schools frequently are inundated with sick students anyway.  Reopening schools amid this coronavirus pandemic puts teachers, students, and our entire communities at greater risk.  It is not possible to follow the CDC recommendations for gatherings under 10 people, 6 feet of separation between people, or frequent hand washing in a classroom setting.

Please slow the spread of the virus by keeping school campuses closed in Arizona and reducing transmission of the virus.  Keep our teachers, students, and communities safe by keeping all Arizona schools closed until the pandemic is over and they can return to school safely and give our healthcare workers and communities the chance to combat this deadly virus.
