Be aware of Dotsure. My pitbull hurtled his knee badly, and he had to go for a operation. We have been on dotsure about two years by that time and my pitbull was on the high plan. The operation costs was between R45000 and R50000. Dotsure offered me a rediculous R5000 for the operation and R4000for Anastacia and xrays. So I was stuck. We didn't had that kind of money. I phoned a lot of other pet insurances, they all offered on the high plan, the same premium dotsure charge, a coverage of R45 to R50000. Cover the whole operation. All exsept dotsure. But none of them could help me because my pitbull was already injured. So thanks to dotsure I had to cancel my pitbuls treatment for his knee. He is in daily pain, and is lumping most of the time when he walks. I tried phoning Dotsure, o yes they investigate with no resolution. Their advice was that I take my dog to the spca for treatment. They are liars. No hip operation only cost R5000, like they claim on that advertisement they love to use, about the owner who run over his dog and had to get a hip operation. Exsept if it was only a cut, tge vet had to repair. Hip operations are very expensive. They say in that advertisement they covered all the cost. Well I know tge truth. They are fine with small claims, but the moment your dog is in a real emergency, that is expensive they don't cover, only a reducilous amount. All other pet insurances cover on the high plan, and some not even on just the high plan, for emergencies between R45. 000 and R50. 000 exsept dotsure. I was also mislead by their friendly and helpful appearance. I have to see every day how my dog suffers because he could get no treatment for his knee. So be aware. They appear friendly and they cover small bills. But go find out for yourself how much they pay in a real emergency that is expensive and go compare them with other insurance companies. Don't get stuck like I did, because I was on dotsure. And their premium is the same as the other insurance companies.
