It contributes to climate change which we are all experiencing around us. Coltan is a rare mineral used to produce tantalum capacitors found in electronic devices. 80% of coltan reserves are found in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This has fueled conflicts in the Congo with devastating results. Overall, everyone can do their part to help future generations and the future of our planet if we just seek out the ways to properly dispose of our unused cell phones, devices, or any electronic products!
