Please keep caring ans sharing and most importantly, please read the petition and click and read the links...no one is asking cats to run wild...we ask for accountability and responsible caretakers that would REDUCE the number of feral/community cats. TNR is proven time and time again as the solution to exactly what people are concerned about. Responsible colonies trap/neuter/release and specified feeding times and shelters which in turn keep the cats in a certain SAFE area while also reducing offspring. When cats are "wild" it is USUALLY when people STOP feeding and they are desperate for food, wandering and doing what they need to do for survival. There is much educational information that needs to go public. There is also SAFE detterants for those who would wish cats would remain out of neighbors comfort zone. For almost 30 years, I have either TNR'd myself, helped, raised funds, transported etc. Not ONE COMPLAINT EVER with my name attached to it. Those that are asking for change are those of us who have lived the rescue life , we walked the walk and evidence exists that there is an answer to a horrendous problem from irresponsible people. No, we are not the hoarders or crazy cat ladies/men but those who want to reduce and possibly eliminate problem areas which would in turn deter exactly what those against it are concerned about. The only way to solve a problem is to fix it and we are trying diligently to do just that. We all don't want them all running around and causing damage no more than the majority of abandoned, dropped off & neglected want to be outside. Will we ever control the entire situation? Probably not, but this is the most cost efficient proven method to stop the madness. If you wanna make a difference and help stop the "wild" cats, to date, the only thing that works is TNR. It SHOULD be part of any local, state & federal agenda since they are afforded protection under state cruelty laws due to the definition under the code of federal regulations.
