Stop Horrific Race Where Dogs are Expected to Die!
This petition had 2,215 supporters
The annual Iditarod is a harsh race, where dogs are treated as tools. Sometimes travelling 100 miles a day and travelling a total of 1000 miles. It is normal that dogs don’t survive this race where they face blizzards and cold weather. Outside of the race dogs are kept chained to old huts with no space and daily exercise. A source has reported that a litters have been born and died with no veterinary attention. Approximately 150 dogs have died in the races history. It is not fair on these dogs. Some get picked up and thrown for fighting and not obeying. They are innocent animals. By sending this petition to the sponsors of the race, they may reconsider funding the race and hopefully raise awareness of the reality of this cruel race.
